Making Checklists
In this exercise you will:
Practice formatting
Insert rows and columns
Dragging to change column
width
Set the print area
Open the Excel
Practice Workbook. Normally you wouldn't open a file from the
Internet without scanning it for viruses but we know the source. Save the
worksheet as a Excel Microsoft Workbook. You can go back and forth
between this window and the Excel workbook.

First thing to do is to change row 1's text
to vertical alignment. HOW

We need to insert
a column in front of column A. Highlight column A. <Insert>
<Columns>

Moving
contents. We need names. These are in column G. Drag
and highlight the names. <Edit> <Cut>.

Move to cell A2. Hit <enter>.
The list should have moved.

Highlight the entire sheet. HOW

Format the columns and rows using AutoFit.

Format the text to 14

Add a customized header and footer.
Header: Class Name Footer: Teacher
Name and date HOW

Column A looks too tight. To change
the width without using the format menu, move the cursor between columns
A and B. It should change shapes. Left click and drag until
you have the column width you want. This can be done with rows by
moving the cursor between the row numbers.

Click on the <Print Preview Button (magnifying
glass)>. Go to set up and add gridlines.

Setting Print
Area. I need to print more than just the columns and rows that
are in the preview. Go to <View> <Page Break Preview>
Drag the columns to between L and M. Drag the rows down to 14.
Notice that column L is on the second page. Drag the preview back
between K and L. You have just set the area that will be printed.

A word on saving. Save, Save,
Save. Save frequently. Save when you are thinking. Save
before a major reformat. Save when someone starts talking to you.
It is just a good thing to do.
On to practice more and add a couple
